Desktop Tower Defense (DTD)

With its endearingly simple graphics and phonographic nods to the classic game of "Lemmings" and kids TV show "Ivor the Engine", Desktop Tower Defense has become a classic game in its own right.

Since its creation in 2007 by Paul Preece, the game has been played tens of millions of times online and continues to be maintained and updated to this day.

While top scores can be achieved by repeatedly opening and closing routes within a maze (known as juggling), a challenge favoured by many is to complete a game using a static maze layout. The following maze designs were created in 2023 and demonstrate this static maze design approach.
